Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you teach?
We offer classes for students ages 4 and up—there’s no upper age limit! Whether your child is just getting started or you're looking for something the whole family can enjoy, we have a class for you.
What is Kuk Sool Won™?
Kuk Sool Won™ is a comprehensive Korean martial arts system that includes traditional forms, self-defense, joint locks, falling techniques, acrobatics, weapons training, and more. It emphasizes respect, discipline, and continuous growth at every level.
How much do classes cost?
We offer a free introductory class so your family can try it out before committing. After that, we have several tuition options based on your family's needs. We’re happy to work with you to find a plan that fits your budget—just reach out and we’ll talk through the best options for you.
My child has taken another martial art. Will they keep their rank?
Each martial arts system has its own curriculum and ranking requirements, so all students start at white belt in Kuk Sool Won™. However, we always honor and respect the dedication and experience gained from other martial arts, and we welcome that background into our training environment.
How often should we attend classes?
We recommend attending at least twice a week for steady progress. More advanced students attend three times per week. We offer a flexible schedule six days a week, plus optional private lessons for extra support.
Where are you located?
We’re located in the Hecho en Mexico Shopping Center, near the intersection of Escarpment Blvd and W. William Cannon in Southwest Austin.
What should my child wear to their first class?
Comfortable athletic clothing is perfect. If your child decides to enroll, we’ll provide a full martial arts uniform with patches, including a white belt.
Is martial arts safe for young children?
Yes! Our Tiny Tigers program (ages 4–6) is designed specifically for younger students. It’s fun, engaging, and focused on building coordination, focus, and confidence in a safe and age-appropriate environment.
Do parents need to stay during class?
Parents are welcome and encouraged to watch, especially for our younger age groups. It’s a great way to stay involved and support your child’s martial arts journey.
